Bali, also known as the Island of the Gods, offers a diverse landscape consisting of mountains and hills, sandy beaches, rocky coastlines, volcanic hillsides, and lush green rice terraces. Bali is an Indonesian province that covers several small islands including the isle of Bali. This main island is located between Lombok and Java. It offers world-class diving and surfing, hundreds of historical, archaeological, and cultural attractions, and a wide variety of accommodations, all of which go together to make it an award-winning island destination.

Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot is one of the leading sea temples in Bali. The unique thing about the temple is that its sanctuary is built atop a giant rock that is surrounded by the sea. The base of the rock has been reported to be home to several species of poisonous sea snakes, which are believed by the locals to be guarding the temple.

Kuta Beach

Kuta is one of the most attractive beach resorts in Bali, located on the road between Denpasar and Bukit Peninsula. The beach is ideal for surfing, and as it is facing the west, it offers some of the most beautiful sunsets. If you want to enjoy regular performances of Balinese dance and music, then you should be at Kuta than anywhere else on these islands.

Garuda Wisnu Kencana

If you visit this island destination for a vacation, make sure to check the Garuda Wisnu Kencana or GWK statue of the god Vishnu. The statue is erected on the hill Unggasan and rises 20 meters above the ground. This is also one of the major tourist attractions on Bali where you can come close to beautiful sceneries and traditional Barong and Kecak Dance that continue throughout the day. Then, you shouldn’t forget to visit the terraced rice paddies spread across the landscape between Amlapura and Candidasa. It is a spectacular scenic beauty that you will remember for a lifetime.

Bali's Cuisine

When in Bali, you cannot go back home without enjoying their world-famous menu. Make sure to taste Nasi Goreng, made from rice, Pesan Be Paseh made from small fish found in the waters of the islands and Bebek Betutu, made using duck and a variety of pungent roots and herbs. If you are at Ubud, you can enjoy your breakfast and lunch at Melting Wok Warung. You can have your tea or coffee at the Seniman Coffee Studio in Ubud, while Bridges in Ubud and Breeze in Seminyak offer good contemporary and international cuisines for dinner.

Transportation

As Bali has been a long-standing, popular island destination, it has highly developed and affordable public transport for moving around the islands. You can choose the minibuses, buses or bemos, all of which have virtually a fixed route between the towns. Bemos can be in the form of vans or minibuses, and they are cheap. However, they can be dusty, hot, and loaded with diesel exhaust. It would be better to get a bus, rent a car, or rent a motorcycle or bicycle. Ngurah Rai International Airport or Denpasar International Airport is a major airport located in south Bali, around 13 km from Denpasar. It is the second biggest airport in Indonesia after its capital airport.
